Two Awesome Peanut Butter Smoothie Bowl Recipes

Smoothie bowls are known for being light, refreshing, and nourishing. But have you ever wished there was a smoothie bowl with a bit more heft to it? Maybe you're craving one that's higher in protein and can really make you feel satisfied for hours. A good way to achieve this is to make a smoothie bowl that contains peanut butter. Peanut butter is a good source of protein and contains healthy fats, which make the bowl feel more filling. It also has that palate-pleasing quality that can't be beat. Here are two peanut butter smoothie bowl recipes to try.

Peanut Butter and Jam Bowl

If you could turn a PB&J into a smoothie bowl, this would be it! The recipe calls for strawberry jam, but you can really use any jam or jelly that you enjoy or have on-hand.

You'll need:

  • 1/2 a banana, frozen
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 3/4 cup oat milk or other plant milk of your choice
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon strawberry jam
  • 1/2 a banana, fresh and sliced
  • 2 fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup honey-roasted peanuts

Combine the frozen banana, frozen berries, yogurt, milk, peanut butter, and jam in a blender. Blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a little extra oat milk and keep blending. Pour the mixture into a bowl, and immediately top it with your peanuts, fresh strawberries, and fresh banana. Enjoy!

Chocolate-Peanut Butter Bowl

If you want a smoothie bowl that tastes like dessert without being unhealthy, then this is it. The recipe does not make as much as some smoothie bowl recipes because this one is so rich, but you can double it if you have a big appetite.

You'll need:

  • 1/2 a banana, frozen
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened, condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup oat milk
  • 1/4 cup granola
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate chips

Combine the banana, yogurt, peanut butter, cocoa powder, sweetened condensed milk, chia seeds, and oat milk in a blender. Process until smooth. Pour into a bowl, and immediately top with your granola and chocolate chips. Dig in!

Experiment with these smoothie bowl recipes and make them your own. You can easily add different fruits or flavorings to change things up. You'll enjoy the results and have a more filling experience, thanks to the peanut butter.
